How I fell in love with iron!
This is me with my daughter May 2012.
In 2011 I was pregnant with my daughter and gained 54 pounds. I stayed active through my pregnancy but couldn’t resist eating whatever I wanted. I lived off sugary cereal and Jack N the Box tacos. I ended up having a C-section and was out of commission for about 6 weeks. Once, I was clear to start working out again I wanted to lose the baby weight and tighten my tummy. In April 2012, I was given a 30 day Groupon for Ambition Athletics in Encinitas, CA. I went through the basic intro session and immediately wanted more. During the first few classes, I realized I couldn’t complete a “real push up” or “pull up”. This pissed me off and gave me the fire to work my ass off to accomplish these challenges. I continued attending classes three days a week and even started eating clean. Within months, my clothes were too big and people were noticing my body change. Eight months later, I could successfully do weighted push-ups, pull-ups, swing and squat the heaviest kettlebell in the gym, and I was the first female client to Turkish get up the orange kettlebell (62 lbs). After, one year of strength training, I have decided to help other people get in shape and fall in love with a healthier living. I'm not a trainer but rather a motivated, strong female hoping to change society’s look on women being strong & sexy! I continue to train out of Ambition Athletics www.ambitionathletics.com 3-4 times a week and with my best friend Holly Mersy of Mersy Fitness. She has been my rock throughout this crazy journey. Check out her website for more information on training and kettlebell boot camps www.Hollymersy.com. Holly and I have recently decided to compete in the upcoming 2013 Vista Highland Games aka (throw heavy shit). Our goal is to prove you can be strong and sexy! Throughout the training process, I will post pics, videos and blogs about our adventure. Enjoy!
